Brett Burchett, CFP®, AIF®, CPFA®

Financial Advisor

Brett works with his clients to provide a clear understanding of their financial situation while also creating strategies to help pursue their financial goals. Whether it is getting started in the financial planning process or preparing for retirement, he enjoys walking alongside his clients through every step of their financial journey. Brett helps clients focus on five key areas: income tax planning, estate planning, retirement income planning, investment planning, and insurance.

During his senior year of high school, Brett was introduced to the career path of financial advising. With new aspirations and goals in mind, Brett obtained his insurance and securities licenses immediately following his high school graduation and started his career as a financial advisor. While doing this, he continued his education and graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a degree in finance. 

Brett is a lifelong learner and believes education is vital, especially in our industry. Brett attended Northwestern University for his CFP® Certification Education, and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional. He also holds his Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) designation that has the purpose of, "assuring that those responsible for managing or advising on investor assets have a fundamental understanding of the principles of fiduciary duty, the standards of conduct for acting as a fiduciary, and a process for carrying out fiduciary responsibility." 

Community involvement is always something that Brett has valued. His community involvement includes: serving in the youth ministry at Lincoln Berean Church, being a Journey of Generosity (JOG) Facilitator through Generous Giving, teaching personal financial through Junior Achievement where he serves as a YP Board Member, leading the Scholarship Committee with the Rotary #14 Club, and judging state competitions with Nebraska DECA. 

He is a member of various other organizations in Lincoln including: the Society of Financial Service Professionals (FSP) where he serves as President, Nebraska Financial Education Network where he serves as a Board Member, National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA), Financial Planning Association (FPA), Kingdom Advisors, Lincoln Estate Planning Council (LEPC), Lincoln Independent Business Association (LIBA), and East Lincoln Business Association (ELBA). 

Although Brett spends a lot of time with clients and being involved in the Lincoln community, his top priorities are his faith and his family which includes his wife, Jensyn, and their dog, Oakley. They spend their time outside of their careers by being involved at their church, spending time outdoors, and enjoying the company of friends and family.
